Cuba will participate in the virtual World Summit of the International Labor Organization (ILO) under the slogan “COVID-19 and the world of work”, which will take place between July 1 and 7, 2020.
This was announced through her official Twitter profile, Marta Elena Feitó, Cuban Minister of Labor and Social Security, who added that the representatives of the largest of the Antilles to the event, are already preparing to expose the experiences of the nation Caribbean in terms of labor protection during this stage of confronting the new coronavirus pandemic.
In this sense, the Minister herself explained on June 15 that the special measures implemented for the labor and salary protection of workers in Cuba before COVID-19 will be kept in correspondence with the phases of the post-pandemic plan. He stressed that since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (Mtss) has implemented 36 measures in labor, wages, security and social assistance matters.
During an intervention in the Round Table television space, Feitó explained that during the recovery phase projected by the country, some of these actions will continue in force and others will progressively change with the reinstatement of workers in work centers that interrupted their activities.
